PLO Scarf
Donated by Wullie Adams
This Palestinian scarf was donated by long standing Muirhouse resident and political activist Wullie Adams. The Palestinian scarf has become a trademark of Wullies ever since he visited Palestine in the 1980’s as part of a group producing a dossier for the Scottish Palestinian Solidarity Campaign where we witnessed ‘the bravest people I’ve ever seen’. More than 30 years later Wullie still wears a PLO scarf as a sign of solidarity with the people he met and as a symbol of his ongoing commitment to social justice and political resistance.
‘We need to be clear about what is meant by activism – it’s about grabbing hold of the issues, it’s about education, it’s about bringing people together and making alliances.’
